INTRODUCTION OF FLIGHT LINE RADIO

SUN ‘n FUN CAMPUS,
LAKELAND, FL – (March 5, 2008) Sun ‘n Fun is pleased to
announce the addition of Flight Line Radio to the 2008
event, being held April 8-13 at Lakeland Linder Regional
Airport. Flight Line Radio is a service that will allow Sun
’n Fun guests to hear important event information, including
the entire airshow narration through a Flight Line Radio
receiver. The receiver is a credit-card sized unit that is
attached to a lanyard worn around the neck and comes
complete with earphones and batteries.
The receiver has an
operational range that includes the entire Sun ’n Fun
Campus, and will allow guests to hear the airshow without
being in the vicinity of the public address system located
in the announcer’s stand. . Guests can dine, shop or relax
almost anywhere and still stay connected to the action.
In addition
to carrying airshow announcements, Flight Line Radio will
also receive live feeds from Sun ’n Fun radio located at
1510AM on your dial, and the arrival/departure
communications from Lakeland Linder Regional Airport’s
control tower.

Flight Line Radio as part of the 2008 event”, said Donna
Gabriel, Sun ’n Fun Director of Communications and
Marketing. “Flight Line Radio will undoubtedly enhance our
guest experience by allowing them move around the grounds
and still listen to everything that is happening overhead.”
Flight Line Radio is
sponsored this year by Piper Aircraft, and will be available
in all Gifts of Flight gift shop locations on the campus,
including the Florida Air Museum gift shop.

Sun ’n Fun begins
Tuesday, April 8 with gates opening at 9:00 a.m. daily.

Sun ’n Fun, a
501(c)(3) not–for–profit organization based in Lakeland,
Florida, is best known for its annual Fly–In held each
April. The Fly–In is the primary source of funding for Sun
‘n Fun’s expanding year–round aviation education programs.
These include operation of the Florida Air Museum, the
state’s “Official Aviation Museum and Education Center,”
which is also supported through grants from the Division of
Historical Resources and Division of Cultural Affairs,
Florida Department of State. In addition, Sun ’n Fun has
initiated education programs for aviation enthusiasts of all
ages – especially young people – featuring valuable “hands
on” learning experiences. A growing scholarship program
provides financial support to ensure Sun ’n Fun’s education
